Sin Ming Senior Activity Center

Sing Min Senior Activity Center opened in October 2010. It is an extension of the Ang Mo Kio Service Center. Generally, about 8 to 12 elderly people attend the programs, but the numbers may increase according to their interest. Most of the Elderly are Chinese. Each week, volunteers from ISS travel to the center and conduct various activities such as, candle making, Tie-die, Wii and nail painting, with the elderly. This is a great activity that promotes the importance of the elderly and also provides a great cross culture experience for the volunteers and the elderly.

“Sin Ming is an extremely successful and moving activity. It engages you with extremely covered up issues such as abuse and loneliness, and enables you to make a difference to some of the wisest people on the planet by helping them to smile and enjoy their last years of life.”  - Rebecca Stearns (G12)
